Rajongemeinde Plungė (lit. Plungės rajono savivaldybė ) is a Rajongemeinde with 36,524 inhabitants in northwest Lithuania , in the Telšiai district . The center is Plungė . The Minija flows through Rajon with Sausdravas , Babrungas . There is Žemaitija National Park .

UAB Plungės kooperatinė prekyba , a subsidiary of the Lithuanian group UAB Vičiūnų grupė , has 1,070 employees (2018). It is the largest producer of fish products in the Baltic States . Other companies are UAB “Vičiūnai ir partneriai”, UAB “Baltic food partners” and UAB “Plungės duona” ( bakery production).
