Hortense Anne Louise Elisabeth (Lili) Byvanck-Quarles van Ufford (born October 7, 1907 in Arnhem , † November 24, 2002 in Leiden ) was a Dutch classical archaeologist .

Quarles received his PhD from Leiden University in 1940 . Among other things , she traveled to Sicily , where she practiced art between 550 BC. BC and 450 BC Studied. She also dealt with the art of Constantinople . Furthermore, she dealt with the flora of the Vaudois Alps and toured the south of Mexico and Istanbul .

She was married to the classical archaeologist Alexander Willem Byvanck (1884-1970) since 1948 , about whom she published a biography .
