Originally the Hospitalarius is a clergyman who looks after the poor and hospital ( hospital ) at monasteries and monasteries.

The Hospitaler were at the time of the Crusades to the collective name for the new orders that the pilgrims - stood and health services, such as the German Order of the Hospitallers (later of Malta ), the James Orden and many other brothers and sister communities.
