The former hotel is now used as an office building

The Hotel Central (also known as Kamienica Izaaka Rotberga , German: Izaak Rotberg's tenement house ) was a mid-range hotel in downtown Warsaw . It was closed in the 1970s.

The hotel was located in the six-storey building Aleje Jerozolimskie 53 (formerly number 47), on the corner with the small Ulica Pankiewicza . On the opposite side of Aleje Jerozolimskie is Warsaw's central train station (or where its predecessor building, the Vienna train station ) was located - accordingly, the hotel is likely to have primarily addressed rail travelers. The higher quality Hotel Polonia is only 100 meters further east on Jerozolimskie . The hotel operated under the names Hotel Centralny and Hotel Narodowy in later times .

The hotel building was built for Izaak Rotberg in 1893 as an elegant, three-story apartment building. It was rebuilt in 1907 and two storeys added; presumably from then on it functioned as a hotel. Maybe Władysław Marconi was the architect responsible for the renovation. In 1930 Mieczysław Roziewicz was the owner of the property. The hotel was stopped in the 1970s, the following user was the general management of the pipe construction company "Energopol" (Polish: Generalna Dyrekcja Budownictwa Hydrotechnicznego i Rurociągów Energetycznych "Energopol" ). In 1994 and 1995 the property was renovated as an office building. The current owner and user is Energopol-Warszawa SA . The building was listed on July 1, 1965 (No. 765-A).
