The hourglass Lake ( English for hourglass lake ) is a small melt water lake in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located in the Barwick Valley halfway between Webb Lake and Lake Vashka .
The lake was given its descriptive name in 1964 by the American geologist Parker Emerson Calkin (1933–2017) based on its bank shape.
