HouseTrip is an internet platform founded in 2009 for booking and renting private and holiday apartments around the world. On the website, both private individuals and professional vacation rental providers can offer complete apartments or houses for guests. The company, which is based in Lausanne (Switzerland) and has additional offices in London and Lisbon , has been named the best start-up in Switzerland for the second time. In the UK, the Times voted HouseTrip one of the top 50 travel sites.
Currently (as of September 2013) HouseTrip offers more than 250,000 actively listed apartments and is therefore one of the largest providers of holiday apartments. The range of apartments is divided into two categories: Users can either search for complete apartments or for a bedroom in a private apartment.
founding
Arnaud Bertrand and his wife Junjun Chen Arnaud founded HouseTrip in 2009, the platform went live for the first time in January 2010. HouseTrip has booked over four million room nights since the company was founded. Housetrip is financed by three venture capital companies from Switzerland , Great Britain and the USA , which to date have invested around 60 million francs in the start-up .

HouseTrip is a marketplace for private and holiday homes on the Internet. On the site, users will find rental properties, such as classic holiday apartments or houses, but also unusual accommodations, such as a houseboat in Amsterdam or a holiday home from the 15th century in Provence . The booking is made directly on the website, so there is no need to make advance payments to the respective owner. HouseTrip keeps the amount up to 24 hours after check-in at the holiday home. On HouseTrip, hosts can exchange questions and answers with their guests on the 'pinboard' and view the comments on their property in the 'Ratings' section. The listing and listing of apartments on HouseTrip is free for hosts.
