Howhannes Danieljan (boxer)
Howhannes Danieljan ( Armenian Հովհաննես Դանիելյան ; born April 11, 1987 ) is an Armenian boxer . He fights at light flyweight (up to 48 kg).
Career
Danieljan celebrated his first international success when he advanced to the semi-finals at the European Boxing Championships in 2006 . Here, however, he had to admit defeat to the later European champion from Russia Dawid Airapetjan . So he won the bronze medal at this tournament.
In the following year he took part in the world championships for his country and was able to advance to the quarter-finals here. He lost this fight against the Thai Amnat Ruenroeng clearly on points. By making it to the quarter-finals, however, he had already qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games . There he defeated the Cameroonian Thomas Essomba in the first round and retired in the second round after a defeat against the Kazakhs Birzhan Zhakypov .
