The Hrafnsfjörður (dt. Rabenfjord ) is a fjord in the West Fjords of Iceland .
Hrafnsfjörður is the easternmost of Jökulfirðir , a group of five fjords on the north bank of Ísafjarðardjúp . It is 2 km wide, extends 9 km into the country to the east and is located just 5 km north of the Drangajökull glacier . About 6 km east of the inner end of the fjord lies Furufjörður on the other side of a ridge on the east side of the Westfjords . North of the isthmus between these two fjords lies the Hornstrandir peninsula , the northernmost part of the Westfjords.
The banks of Hrafnsfjörður are now uninhabited and not accessible by roads or slopes. There are a few farms, including Hrafnfjarðareyri farm . Fjalla-Eyvindur is said to have lived here with his wife Hella. You can still see a stone with the writing “ Hér liggur Fjalla-Eyvindur Jónsson ” ( Eng . Here lies ... ). The farm was inhabited until 1943.
