Hrvatski vojnik (The Croatian Soldier) is a Croatian military newspaper and internet publication . It was founded in 1991 as the "first Croatian military magazine" and is published by the Croatian Ministry of Defense .

Hrvatski vojnik reports on the latest developments in military technology , military history, and news about the activities of the Croatian armed forces at home and abroad.

history

Hrvatski vojnik was originally published as a biweekly newspaper since November 1991 and was published in this form throughout the entire Croatian War of Independence (1991-1995). During the last months of the war, in May 1995, Hrvatski vojnik was reissued as a monthly military journal and published together with the Defense Ministry's new weekly newsletter entitled Velebit (named after the mountain range of the same name ).

In 2000, Velebit was renamed Obrana (Defense). Both publications have undergone major changes in design and content, and some new sections have been introduced. In October 2004 Obrana was merged again with Hrvatski vojnik, which was then published weekly.

Hrvatski vojnik has been a member of the European Military Press Association since 2001 .
