Hudson is an expandable, web-based system for continuous integration in software development, the further development of which was discontinued in 2016 in favor of Jenkins . Hudson is written in Java , runs in any servlet container and can be expanded with a variety of plugins. Hudson was developed primarily by Kohsuke Kawaguchi, a Sun Microsystems employee . In 2008, Hudson won the Duke's Choice Award in the Developer Solution category at the JavaOne conference . Kawaguchi left the company after it was acquired by Oracle . Because of various problems between the developers and Oracle, e.g. B. because of the naming rights, a fork called Jenkins was initiated. Hudson is a top-level project at the Eclipse Foundation .
In 2016, the development of Hudson was discontinued in favor of Jenkins.
