The Hueca Point ( Spanish Punta Hueca , in the United Kingdom Hollow Point , both sides for Trough Point ) is a headland that forms the western foothills of Montagu Island in the archipelago of the South Sandwich Islands .
The name of the headland was first recorded on an Argentine map from 1953. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated this designation into English in 1972. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee , however, decided in 1974 on a full translation of the Argentine name.
