Friedrichsdorf - former school and Huguenot church

The Huguenot Church is located in Friedrichsdorf , a district of Hofgeismar in the Kassel district ( Hesse ).

The Huguenot colony built in 1775 for French religious refugees by Landgrave Friedrich II of Hessen-Kassel received a school building in 1797, to which a small church building in simple half-timbered construction with a roof turret over the gable side was added in 1815 by the master carpenter Gerecht . In 1856 and 1927 the church was rebuilt and a gallery was added. The inscription, which is now partially covered by a later porch, reads: And I want to live among you and want to be your God. You shall be my people. Built for the glory of God 10. XI. 1815 .
