Hugo Bethmann

Hugo Bethmann (born July 4, 1871 in Eger , Kingdom of Bohemia , † May 31, 1936 in Wilkau-Haßlau ) was a German mechanical engineer

Life

He was the son of the railway inspector of the Saxon State Railway Franz Bethmann and his wife Amalie nee Dittmar. After attending grammar school, Hugo Bethmann studied at the Technical University of Stuttgart. He then gained ten years of practical experience as an engineer in Leipzig, Halle, Görlitz and Posen. He then became a lecturer in mechanical engineering at the higher technical institute in Zwickau. After the outbreak of World War I he was called up and took part in the war as an engineer officer until 1918. After the end of the war, he returned to Zwickau and worked as a teacher at the engineering school until his death.

Hugo Bethmann had specialized in lifting machines and published several publications about them.

family

Hugo Bethmann married on May 10, 1921 in Weißenborn near Zwickau Adelheid Verw. von Oheimb, born von Bültzingslöwen, daughter of the manor owner Fritz von Oheimb in Woislowitz in Silesia. From his first marriage, his wife brought Ute von Bültzingslöwen (* 1912) into the marriage.
