Hugo Friend
Hugo Friend ( Hugo Morris Friend ; born July 21, 1881 in Prague , Czech Republic , † April 29, 1966 in Chicago ) was an American long jumper and hurdler .
When he was two years old, his parents emigrated to the United States. In 1905 he became the US champion in the 120 yard hurdles and long jump. The following year he won bronze in the long jump at the 1906 Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens and was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles .
Hugo Friend was a student at the University of Chicago during his athletic career .
