Hugo Froelich

Hugo Froelich (* 28. January 1885 in Berlin , † after 1942) was a German actor and manager .

Life

Very little is known about Hugo Froelich's career. He received his artistic training in the first decade of the 20th century from the actor and acting teacher Heinrich Oberländer . Froelich's activities in front of and behind the camera were closely linked to the work of his famous brother, the director and producer Carl Froelich . He got him shortly after the end of the First World War and gave him little roles. Hugo did not work regularly in film until the beginning of the sound film era, when Carl Froelich initially hired him mainly as the production manager for his productions. In addition, Hugo took part in some tiny roles in Carl's productions and those of his student Rolf Hansen .

Hugo Froelich's appearances encompassed the entire range of roles of a batch actor. He also embodied hotel porters and generals, janitors and peasants, gendarmes and judges, prompts and hoteliers, taxi drivers and servants. In the middle of the Second World War , Hugo Froelich disappeared from the public eye.
