Hugo Helmig (born July 24, 1998 in Denmark; actually: Hugo Helmig Toft Simonsen ) is a Danish musician . With his single Please Don't Lie he reached number 22 on the Danish music charts .

Life

Helmig grew up in Aarhus and has three siblings. He is the son of the Danish musician Thomas Helmig and the Danish model Renée Simonsen . As a child he wanted to be a musician and began playing the piano and guitar at an early age. With his single Please Don't Lie , released on July 9, 2017 , he reached the Danish music charts and received a platinum record from IFPI Denmark . His sister gave Helmig the idea for the song Please Dont Lie “My sister, whom I rarely see, was there for breakfast. And then she only looks on Instagram for half an hour and does not speak to me! So I said: Please put your cell phone down! "
