Hui from Jin

Gong Hui of Jin ( Chinese  晉惠公 , Pinyin Jìn Huì Gōng ; died 637 BC ) was a Chinese ruler during the spring and autumn annals . He ruled the state of Jin from 650 to 636 BC. His personal name was Yiwu (夷吾).

Yiwu's father was the Gong Xian of Jin . His brothers included Xiqi , Shengsheng and Chong'er , who later became Gong Wen of Jin . After Xian 656 BC Chr. Xiqi had made heir to the throne, Yiwu fled Jin. After Xian's death, however, Xiqi was killed by a Shengsheng follower. Because there was no heir to the throne, Yiwu was brought back to Jin. This ascended the throne in 650 BC. As Gong Hui from Jin.

Fearing that his brother might rob him of the throne, Hui let 643 BC. Assassinate Chong'er. However, this was unsuccessful.

After Hui's death (in the ninth month of the Chinese year) in 637 BC. His son Crown Prince Yu, who had been hostage to the Qin but fled from there, ascended the throne as Huai of Jin . In the same year Huai was cleared out of the way by Jin, however, by Chong'er, who then ruled as Wen of Jin .
