Heinrich Schild (born October 22, 1895 in Elberfeld , † February 18, 1978 ) was a German politician ( DP , later CDU ).

Life and work

Heinrich Schild comes from a family of craftsmen. After studying economics with a final doctorate in Cologne in 1921, he worked for the Reich Association of German Crafts, which was founded in Hanover in October 1919, from 1922. From 1924 he worked as a company lawyer for various trade associations. He became a member of the NSDAP and was General Secretary of the German Crafts in Berlin from the end of March 1933 to the end of September 1934. In this function he defended himself against the attack of the German Labor Front (DAF) on the basis of the "Law to prepare the organic structure of the German economy" from February 1934. Schild's successful power struggle between Handwerk and DAF led to a party expulsion process.

Since 1931 he supported the ceramists affected by the bankruptcy of the Velten-Vordamm stoneware factory and the closure of the Haël workshops for artistic ceramics and paved the way for the foundation of the HB workshops for ceramics in the former Marwitz ( Brandenburg ) tiled stove factory in May 1934. He procured the initial capital and worked free of charge as managing director. The conversion of the company into an OHG in 1938 and the master craftsman's examination by Hedwig Bollhagen further protected the ceramics trade from being attacked by the German labor front.

In 1946, Schild relocated to West Germany from what was then the Soviet occupation zone . From 1949 to 1958 he was the general manager of the regional association of the trade associations of the handicrafts NRW eV In addition, he was also general secretary of the Rhenish-Westphalian trade association and managing director of the North Rhine-Westphalian regional association of the German Mittelstandsblocks , a lobbying association for the interests of small and medium-sized companies. He then went freelance as a business consultant.

Political party

Schild had been a member of the German Party since 1953, which he left on July 1, 1960. On September 20, 1960, he joined the CDU.

MP

Schild was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1961. Along with Erwin Schoettle ( SPD ), Rudolf Vogel ( CDU ), Martin Blank ( FDP ) and Wilfried Keller ( GB / BHE ), he was one of the first members of the trust committee for the secret budget of the intelligence services of the Federation , which met for the first time on February 22, 1956.

From December 15, 1958 to November 29, 1961, Schild was also a member of the European Parliament .

From 1961 to 1969 he was a member of the district council in the Oberbergischer Kreis , 1963/64 as parliamentary group leader of the CDU.
