Wilfried Keller

Wilfried Keller (born October 17, 1918 in Prague ; † November 26, 1991 in Marktheidenfeld ) was a German expellee politician ( WAV , GB / BHE ).

Life and work

Keller studied law and political science at the German University in Prague from 1936 to 1939, and received his doctorate. jur. and then took part in World War II as a soldier . In 1946, as a displaced person from the Sudetenland, he relocated to West Germany, settled in Lower Franconia and worked as an employee in the public service from 1948. After leaving the Bundestag, he worked in the legal department of the Bavarian State Ministry for Labor and Social Affairs.

Political party

Keller got involved in the Bavarian refugee work and initially joined the Economic Development Association (WAV). He later became a member of the BHE , was chairman of the GB / BHE district association Marktheidenfeld and district chairman of the party in Lower Franconia.

In 1948, Keller became a council member of the Hafenlohr community and a member of the Marktheidenfeld district council . In the first general election in 1949 he ran as a member of the new citizens' union led by Günter Goetzendorff on the list of the WAV, but initially did not receive a mandate. After the licensing requirement was lifted, he took part in the founding of the BHE and in 1950 entered the Bavarian state parliament via the joint list BHE / DG . On April 24, 1952, Keller succeeded the deceased former WAV member Wilhelm Paschek (now DP ) in the German Bundestag . In the second legislative period (1953–1957) he was a member of parliament for the GB / BHE. He then resigned the state parliament mandate on October 27, 1953, but was again a member of the Bavarian state parliament from 1958 to 1962. At the end of the electoral term he was also a non-judicial member of the Bavarian Constitutional Court for around five months .

Along with Erwin Schoettle ( SPD ), Rudolf Vogel ( CDU ), Martin Blank ( FDP ) and Heinrich Schild ( DP ), Keller was one of the first members of the trust committee for the secret budget of the federal intelligence services , which first met on February 22, 1956.
