Herbert Heidtmann

Herbert Heidtmann (born April 16, 1928 in Derschlag ; † April 18, 2013 in Gummersbach ) was a German politician, honorary district administrator and member of the state parliament ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and high school , he studied German and geography at the University of Cologne. He passed the first and second state exams for teaching at grammar schools. He then worked in school, most recently as head of the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Gymnasium in Wiehl . In 1963 Heidtmann became a member of the SPD. He was represented in numerous branches of the SPD and was u. a. Chairman of the SPD sub-district of the Oberbergischer Kreis . From 1965 he was a member of the Education and Science Union .

He was married and had two children. The jazz musician Stefan Heidtmann is his son.

From May 30, 1985 to May 31, 1995 Heidtmann was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was elected directly in constituency 026 Oberbergischer Kreis II. He was a member of the district council of the Oberbergischer Kreis from 1975 to 1989 and from 1994. From 1994 to 1999, Heidtmann district of the circle. From 1964 he was a member of the Bergneustadt City Council and from 1979 to 1984 mayor there .

In 1991 Heidtmann was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class.
