House with the Hoofden

The Huis met de hoofden (German house with the heads ) is a building in the Dutch capital Amsterdam . It is located on the Keizersgracht . The house is one of the top 100 UNESCO monuments in the Netherlands.

The house was built in 1622 to designs by Hendrick de Keyser and sold to Louis de Geer in 1634 . It remained in the possession of the De Geer family for four generations , during which time the Bohemian philosopher and educator Comenius lived here . Even afterwards, the house kept changing hands. It is in the center of the city.
