Humanism Prize
The Humanism Prize is an award that has been presented every two years by the German Association of Classical Philologists since 1998 . The basic idea behind this award is “the ideal, dating back to antiquity, of combining intellectual education and active advocacy for the common good.” The award ceremony takes place at the federal congress of the DAV; it is preceded by a laudation by a high-ranking representative of science, journalism or politics.
