Humberto De Lucía

Humberto De Lucía (born August 17, 1992 in Caracas , Venezuela ) is a Venezuelan guitarist .

Life

De Lucia was born into a musical family. His talent was encouraged early on; The child prodigy went to the most renowned music school in Venezuela, the Colegio Emil Friedman, at the age of six. At the age of nine he was already taken under the care of his teacher and at the same time most important guitarist in Venezuela, Luis Zea , who also encouraged him strongly. He then took part in various Venezuelan classical music competitions and played in a regional orchestra. He later went to London , where he first continued his education at a school founded by Yehudi Menuhin for children and young people in the field of music. His teacher there was Richard Wright . He made his first appearance abroad in 2005 in London; this is followed by appearances in Prague , Madrid , Paris and Milan . In Great Britain he then studied music for some time at the renowned universities of the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester as well as at the Trinity Laban Conservatory of Music and Dance and the Royal College of Music . At the same time, he obtained his bachelor's degree in natural sciences at the French College in Caracas in 2011 .

In addition to compositions from Venezuela and Latin America, his repertoire also includes baroque music, especially Johann Sebastian Bach . Other composers in his repertoire are Manuel Ponce , Leo Brouwer , Antonio Lauro , Rodrigo Riesa and Vicente Emilio Sojo .
