Humberto López y Guerra
Humberto López y Guerra (born August 12, 1942 in Matanzas , Cuba ) is a Cuban-Swedish writer, filmmaker and journalist.
Life
Humberto López y Guerra began his film career in 1960 in Cuba. From 1963 to 1967 he studied directing at the German Academy for Film Art in Babelsberg in what was then the GDR . After a stopover in Cuba, he moved to Sweden in 1968. He is the director of documentaries and television series, including Federico García Lorca: Asesinato en Granada (1976), Arrabal (1978) (Participation in the Prix Italia 1981), La Larga Condena (“The Long Punishment”), La Cuba de Castro (“Castros Kuba ”; a comprehensive series about Cuba in the eighties) and Odskans år (“ A bad year ”) about National Socialists in Sweden during World War II, winner of the Nordvision award for the best TV series in Scandinavia.
