At the corner of Hamburger Strasse and Humboldtstrasse, the street begins as a one-way street. The western pedestrian entrance to the Hamburger Meile shopping center is located here . The opposite side of the street is bounded by one of the Mundsburg towers. This is followed by entrances to the multi-storey car parks in the shopping centers. After crossing the Bostelzeile street, Humboldtstraße becomes a street with oncoming traffic. This is followed by a small green area, clinker brick houses and the Humboldtstraße elementary school.

This section is characterized by commercial development. The building of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians Hamburg (KVH) in Humboldtstrasse 56 serves the self-administration of the resident doctors and psychotherapists in Hamburg. It went into operation in September 2017 and is an office building, restaurant and meeting building. There are still some Wilhelminian-style residential buildings near Beethovenstrasse.

Bunker Humboldtstrasse 99

Here is the Ilse Löwenstein School, which was formerly called the Humboldtstraße district school. At the entrance to the school yard, a plaque from the history workshop in Barmbek, on which students from the school worked, reminds of the artist Richard Haizmann as well as the heavy development and the cramped housing conditions on Humboldtstrasse before the bombing in World War II. In the street section at Humboldtstrasse 91 there is a bunker from the Second World War. Two penthouse apartments were built on its roof. They were accessible via an external staircase. In mid-December 2017 the wooden penthouse burned down and had to be torn down. Wilhelminian-style houses are also in this section.
