The Hump Passage (English for humpback passage is) a wide notch in the Queen Maud Mountains of Antarctica Ross Dependency . To the southeast of Barnum Peak , the Liv glacier flows through it at the edge of the polar plateau .
The American polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd flew over it in 1929 on his historic South Pole flight and named it as hump (English for hump ). The southern group of a campaign carried out from 1961 to 1962 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition explored them and adapted Byrd's naming to the nature of the geographic object accordingly.
