Dog hairdressers (also dog hairdressers ) shear and trim the fur of dogs . The term groomer (from English to groom : to maintain) is also being used more and more in German-speaking countries . Pet keeper is another term that is also used by a professional association in Germany. Dog groomers work mostly in dog salons.

Education and job title

There is no legally regulated training to become a dog groomer in Germany. Accordingly, the various job titles are not protected.
