Hundred acre forest

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hundred Acre Wood is the place where many of the actions of the children's book Winnie the Pooh and the various films around the character Winnie the Pooh play and his friends. The model for this forest is Ashdown Forest , a nature reserve in the county of East Sussex in England ( Great Britain ). Christopher Milne , who as Christopher Robin himself is one of the main characters in the book by his father Alan Alexander Milne , wrote in his autobiography : "Pooh's Forest and Ashdown Forest are identical" . The Milne family home in Hartfield , Cotchfourd Farm , was not far from Ashdown Forest.

Surname

The original English name is Hundred Acre Wood . Harry Rowohlt translated it with Hundred Acre Wood into German, at Disney, the forest is like the original Hundred Acre Wood .

Venues

Milne inspired the beautiful landscape of Ashdown Forest as a venue for his books. Many of the locations in the book and films can be found in Ashdown Forest, even if they have different names in reality. For example, part of the forest is actually called Five Hundred Acre Wood . Galleon's Lap (in the original edition of the book) is Gill's Lap in the landscape. The "North Pole" and Eeyore's House are in Wren's Warren Valley.

Trivia

In the episode How Much Is The Rabbit In That Window? In the series New Adventures with Winnie the Pooh , the forest doesn't seem to be in England, but near a small town in the USA. This assumption is confirmed by the fact that US Mail is written on a post box.
