Husein Kavazović
Husein Kavazović (born July 3, 1964 in Gradačac ) is a Bosnian Islamic clergyman and has been the new Bosnian Grand Mufti since September 2012 , having previously been a Mufti of Tuzla . Kavazović is the 14th Bosnian Grand Mufti since 1882. As Grand Mufti, he is the successor of Mustafa Cerić .
Life
Kavazović studied Islamic law at al-Azhar University in Cairo between 1985 and 1990 . In the election in the Gazi-Husrev-Beg Mosque , Sarajevo's main mosque , he received 240 of 382 votes. In his election manifesto, among other things, Kavazović had advocated cooperation with other religious communities and a broader "integration of women into the work of the Islamic religious community".
