HyperCult

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The HyperKult was a series of conferences of the specialist group “Computer as a Medium” of the Society for Informatics , which took place annually at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg from 1991 to 2015 .

At its conference, the specialist group reflected, discussed and commented on the upheaval in modern media society. She asked about the changing relationship between knowledge, world orientation and media. The interdisciplinary orientation of the conference was expressed, among other things, by the integration of cultural and media studies as well as artistic contributions into the program.

The guest of honor at HyperKult XX was the computer pioneer Ivan Sutherland .
