Hypheodana is a genus of the humpback cicadas or humpback chirps ( Membracidae ), a family of round head cicadas ( Cicadomorpha ) from the superfamily of the Membracoidea .

The genus contains 6 species and occurs in Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, Brazil, French Guiana, Colombia and Peru. These humpbacks are approx. 6 to 10 mm long, the females are larger than the males. The color is mostly more or less yellowish brown, often with black or reddish spots. The pronotum is dotted, has longitudinal grooves and is partly wave-shaped, it has at most two small lateral points in front. The pronotum is always pointed towards the rear and almost completely covers the wings when at rest. The triangular head is characteristically directed downwards. Animals of the genus Aspona look similar.
