Way of life

Hypsopygia fulvocilialis forms a generation a year that flies from mid-May to September. The caterpillars are not yet known. Presumably, like the caterpillars of Ocrasa glaucinalis, they feed on dead plant material.

Occurrence

Hypsopygia fulvocilialis is a predominantly southern European species. The northernmost occurrences have so far been reported from Hungary . In the course of global warming, however, it is to be expected that the species will expand further north.

Taxonomy

The combination Herculia fulvocilialis used in some places is incorrect because the genus Herculia is a younger synonym of Hypsopygia .
