Hyundai Assan Otomotiv

Hyundai Assan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. is a commercial vehicle and automobile manufacturer based in İzmit ( Turkey ). It is a joint venture between the South Korean Hyundai Motor Company (50%) and the Turkish Kibar Holding (50%).

history

The plant, which opened in 1997, was Hyundai's first overseas plant.

From 2002 to 2006, production could be more than quintupled to around 60,000 copies. One million vehicles were produced by 2014. In 2016, 229,089 units were produced.

More than 90 percent of the vehicles are exported.

Models

One of the early models that was already exported was the Hyundai Starex . The models i10 (since 2013) and i20 (since 2010) are manufactured.
