I: Scintilla is an American rock band that was formed in 2003.
history
The group was founded in 2003 in Chicago , Illinois . Immediately after its founding, the first songs were created without previous demos, which were released in 2004 on their first album The Approach , which was initially sold by themselves.
After the band's popularity grew through a high live presence, they signed a recording contract with the Belgian label Alfa Matrix , under which the first EP was released in 2006. This record garnered benevolent reviews from the trade press and sold well. It was also in the German Alternative Charts (DAC) for four weeks.
However, I: Scintilla's breakthrough is their second album, Optics , which was released in 2007 . This spent seven weeks in the DAC and helped the group gain popularity in Europe, where it is mainly heard by members of the black scene . The sound of this album is considered to have been further developed and, in addition to the well-known rock elements, also offers more electronic sounds than the previous album.
In 2009 the EP Prey on You was released , in spring 2010 the band's third album, under the title Dying & Falling .
