IBM 386SLC

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The IBM 386SLC was an Intel licensed version of the i386SX . IBM revised this and added power management and an 8  kB L1 cache. Thanks to the L1 cache, the 386SLC was faster than an i386DX with the same clock frequency, but it was significantly cheaper.

Place of use

The SLC, known internally as S uper L ittle C hip , was used in the IBM PS / 2 series 35, 40 and 56 and some IBM ThinkPads , but did not achieve a large market share . It was also offered as an upgrade CPU for the IBM PS / 2 Series 25.
