IBM Canada is the Canadian subsidiary of IBM , the second largest outside the US. The main office is in Markham , Ontario , near Toronto . The company has existed since 1917 and has a total of 20,000 employees. IBM Canada has software development locations in seven Canadian cities: Markham , London , Ottawa , Montreal , Edmonton , Vancouver and Victoria . Together they form the IBM Canada Lab and are the Group's largest software development organization outside of the United States. In addition, the largest IBM location for packaging and testing computer chips is located in Bromont .
