ICIDO was the former name of a formerly independent company that was founded as an offshoot of the Fraunhofer Institute for Work Management and Organization and deals with the commercial application of virtual reality (VR). The name IC.IDO is derived from "I see, I do" (English for I see, I do ) and clarifies the corporate concept of supporting decisions by making things visible.
In 2006 the company fleXilution , based in Cologne, became a subsidiary of ICIDO. In 2007 ICIDO merged with VR Com , a Darmstadt- based company in the field of virtual development and design that emerged from the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics . According to a market study by the “Economic Engineering” magazine, ICIDO had a global market share of almost 20% in 2008.
In 2011 ICIDO GmbH was taken over by the ESI Group , a global provider of simulation software with headquarters in Paris. The company has been trading officially with the logo of the ESI Group since July 1, 2012 and was renamed ESI Software Germany GmbH; IC.IDO became a product brand for the area of virtual reality.
IC.IDO
The product of ESI Software Germany GmbH is "IC.IDO", a Windows -based program package for the immersive real-time and real-size visualization of products on VR systems such as Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE for short) or Powerwall. IC.IDO enables local or globally distributed working groups to work together in the context of product development. It has a module-oriented structure so that it can be optimally adapted to changing operational requirements.
