IFK Motala

IFK Motala is a Swedish sports club from the city of Motala .

Today the club has two sections, one for football (IFK Motala Fotboll) and one for bandy (IFK Motala Bandy).

The association has its origin in the association Holms IF , which was founded on February 27, 1932. In 1937 this club merged with the football club Motala FF . From then on, the new sports association was called IFK Motala. Football was part of the club's program from the start. Since 1947 IFK Motala also had a handball section, which was discontinued in 1971. In 1965, bandy was added as the third sport at the time, which subsequently developed into the club's flagship, once became Swedish champion and which today (2006 season) plays in the highest Swedish division in bandy.
