Drott Jakobstad

The IF Drott is a Finnish sports club from Jakobstad . The club is known for its former football department , which competed first-class for several years.

history

IF Drott was founded in 1921.

The soccer team played a total of four seasons in the Mestaruussarja , but could not hold their ground in the top division for a long time. In 1936 the rise was followed by direct relegation, from 1945 to 1946 the team held out for two seasons before relegating again. In 1957, as a second division team, she won the third edition of the national cup with a 2-1 win after being extended over Kuopion Pallotoverit . In 1960, the club played one last time in the first division. In 1965 the football department broke away from the rest of the club and joined the newly founded FF Jaro .

Arne Eriksson , referee at the 1958 World Cup , was a member of the club.
