history

IF Vesta was founded on June 8, 1911. When a nationwide league system was introduced in the summer of 1924, the club was one of the sub-class teams, but rose to the second division for the first time in 1927. There she had no chance, however, after three victories of the season she rose directly from the bottom of the table with six plus points - anyway, a league reform to reduce the number of second division seasons from five to two five relegated teams in the nine-club season provided. In the subsequent third division season, the club was similarly unsuccessful and said goodbye to fourth division.

After being promoted again in 1934, IF Vesta succeeded until 1961 with the exception of the fourth division season 1952/53 in the third division and was temporarily about to return to the second division: After two runners-up in their season in a row, the team qualified for the promotion round in 1944 second division, but failed there at Surahammars IF . The following year she repeated the success, but this time Västerås IK prevailed. Then the club survived another league reform at the third level, but after relegation in 1961 he only played fourth class.

1967 IF Vesta returned as a season winner in the third division. After two fourth places in the table, the team also won their third division season with just one defeat and returned to the second division. Again, the stay at this level of play was not accompanied by success, together with IK Brage , Södertälje SK , IFK Stockholm and Råsunda IS , she was relegated at the end of the 1971 season. She then played seven seasons in the third division, after relegation from the fourth division, she was able to return for the 1982 and 1983 seasons. In 1986, the club survived another league reform at the fourth level, after relegation to fifth division in 1988 he fluctuated between the divisions until the end of the 1990s. After relegation from the sixth division in 1999, the footballers said goodbye to the higher-class game operations.

The club's ice hockey team competed for the national championship in the 1940s.
