Insat-4C was an Indian communications and general-purpose satellite that was to be used for broadcasting and telecommunications. The launch took place on 10 July 2006 with the Indian carrier rocket GLSV from the spaceport Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota. It would have been the second of seven Insat 4 series satellites in orbit. He was on 10 July 2006 on board a GSLV - launch vehicle started. As a result of the loss of pressure in one of the four boosters , the rocket had to be blown up.
On September 2, 2007, India launched the Insat-4CR replacement satellite . It is identical to the satellite that was lost a year earlier.
