ISDN over IP

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ISDN over IP is an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) based on the Internet Protocol (IP). In contrast to other variants of IP telephony , Agfeo's technology not only implements the B channels , but also the D channel , which means that switching performance features are available, with the exception of callback on busy (CCBS). Creating a complete ISDN in this way, the lowest protocol layer of which is provided by another network, conforms to the reference model of the International Telecommunication Union .

ISDN over IP enables multiple telephone systems to be linked via the Internet and home offices to be connected without the spatial distances being perceptible afterwards.
