ISLE procedure

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ISLE process is a special processing method for transparent materials using lasers . The acronym ISLE stands for English in-volume selective laser-induced etching , indicating German as much as selective laser-induced etching means'.

application

Transparent materials such as glasses or crystals are selectively modified with laser radiation. The modified material can then be removed in an etching solution. In this way, very precise micro-components can be manufactured, such as those required in micro- optics , microsystem technology and medical technology .
