ISO 3166-2: TP

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of ISO 3166-2 codes for East Timor used to identify geographical units only contains the code for East Timor. There are no further subdivisions.

This code consists of only one part. This reflects the code according to ISO 3166-1 (for East Timor TP).

The current country code has not been updated since it was published in 1998.

The current codes are available on the ISO website under #iso: code: 3166: TP .

When East Timor finally became independent on May 20, 2002, the abbreviation was changed from TP (from Timor Português) to TL (from Timor-Leste). This was announced in the third newsletter.
