ISP gate

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ISP-Gate (Internet Service Provider Gate) is an unregulated DSL wholesale product that is used by alternative providers to offer Internet access services that are based on Deutsche Telekom's T-DSL connections . As with T-DSL-ZISP, DSL traffic from almost 8,000 main distributor locations is bundled in a concentration network and passed on to Broadband Remote Access Servers (BRAS) at 73 locations. Unlike the T-DSL ZISP but are L2TP tunnels from BRAS via the IP - backbone network of the Deutsche Telekom ( DTAG IPnet ) at a single location to the Internet Service Provider passed.

From a functional standpoint ISP-gate can be used with T-DSL resale all connections as IP - Bitstream access are considered. From a regulatory point of view, however, the product bundle of T-DSL resale connection and ISP-Gate does not represent a full IP bitstream access, as this product is neither unbundled without a fixed network connection from Telekom, nor access to end customers with individual quality parameters of the traffic flows (including providers -defined DSLAM switching profiles), so that the ISP cannot offer end customer Internet access products with their own defined properties.

ISP-Gate is suitable for Internet service providers who do not have a widely ramified IP backbone network and can therefore route DSL traffic to their own suitable locations with the help of Deutsche Telekom's IP backbone network.
