iStumbler is a macOS - Software for finding network connections via Apple's WLAN standard AirPort , Bluetooth or Bonjour network.
The software scans the available networks at a user-adjustable time interval and displays them with their basic data (network name, encryption, signal strength, MAC address etc.) in the program window. If Growl is installed, a Growl message is displayed if it is found.
Since up to Mac OS version 10.4 ( Tiger ) in the network selection window of AirPort no basic data about encryption of the individual networks was displayed and finding unsecured networks was a matter of chance, iStumbler was an alternative for many Mac users at the time .
