I Am Bones is a Danish indie rock band from Aarhus .
Band history
I Am Bones was originally the pseudonym of the singer-songwriter Johannes Gammelby, under which he released The Short Attention Span EP in 2003 and If You Really Love Me, Send Me More Medical Supplies in 2004. After a few live gigs, the music scene became aware and Gammelby got a contract with Morningside Records . In 2005 the debut album Wrong Numbers Are Always Busy was released in Denmark, which was only available in Germany in 2006. During the subsequent appearances, the line-up changed constantly until the current formation with Filip Granlie, Christian Winther and Jeppe Lindgren was found in 2006. In 2006 another tour followed through Denmark and Germany. Then the band members went back to the studio to record the follow-up album, which was released in 2007. The Greater Good received good reviews, so I Am Bones is currently counted among the best Danish alternative rock bands. In spring 2008, the group toured the clubs in Denmark again.
style
At first, I Am Bones sounded like a punk mix of Nirvana , The Vines , Pavement and Beck . Then the sound developed into a much more aggressive direction through rocking elements. The band is also characterized by cheeky song titles like Zeitgeist , Oktoberfest vs. Morrissey , Roskilde vs. Vitamin D or One Foot In The Groove .
