Ian Hamilton (Author)
Ian Hamilton (born August 24, 1946 in Toronto , Canada ) is a Canadian crime novelist .
Hamilton worked as a journalist before working for the Canadian government and as a businessman. He traveled a lot on business, especially to Asia. Today Ian Hamilton lives with his wife in Burlington , Ontario . It has been nominated for several awards and received very positive reviews in the press. Its publishers are the House of Anansi Press and Spiderline in Toronto. So far, his works have only been translated into German and have been published by Verlag Kein & Aber (Zurich) and Berlin Verlag Krug & Schadenberg (from volume 5 of the Ava Lee series).
For his novel The Water Rat of Wanchai , he received the 2012 Arthur Ellis Award ( "Arthur" ) from the Canadian crime writers' association. The novel marks the beginning of a crime series about the Chinese-Canadian agent Ava Lee.
