Ian Ray

Ian Ray (born August 28, 1957 ) is a retired British marathon runner .

In 1979 he became a marathon champion for the Southern Counties. His winning time of 2:16:04 h is still the second best of a British U23 athlete.

In 1981 he won the Berlin Marathon, which was held for the first time as a city run, in 2:15:42. In 1982 he was third with his personal best of 2:14:08 in the English Marathon Championship and starting for England eighth in the marathon of the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane .
