Ibrāhīm ibn al-Walīd
Ibrāhīm ibn al-Walīd ( Arabic ابراهيم بن الوليد; d. 25 January 750) was the thirteenth Caliph of the Umayyad (744).
Ibrahim ibn al-Walid ibn Abd al-Malik was after the overthrow of his cousin al-Walid II (744) by his brother Yazid III. appointed as his successor when he died after a short reign.
However, it was only recognized in northern Syria . Above all, the Umayyad Marwan II appeared as the avenger of the slain al-Walid. As governor of Armenia and Mesopotamia, he entered Syria and defeated Ibrahim's troops. According to the report of al-Yaʿqūbīs, he took the oath of allegiance on November 26, 744 in Damascus . Ibrāhīm spent the following years at the court of Marwān and fell on the day of the Battle of the Zab along with other members of the Umayyad family.
